Once a month 2-hour beginner friendly journal building classes are focused on mastering techniques of binding construction. Skills in basic binding are enhanced when combined with various functional decorative additions to the pages.
Different journals for different purposes are planned for each month. Examples: Folio, hard bound, art (watercolor) journal, Midori travel style, accordion, and decorative folded coffee table books. Typically, 1-3 enhancement elements are introduced in each class depending on complexity. The basic consumable supplies and class sharing of teacher’s supplies are included with class fee.
Classes and workshops are scheduled with up to 10 participants for adults with a desire to work creatively in paper crafts. This month’s description is below.

August 2026 Group Journal making Class at Spires Gallery Niceville
Tuesday September 29th, 2026, 1:00-3:00. 2026 Basic Binding & Intro to Faith Journaling
In this introductory class, we will decorate and create a journal cover using a basic 3-hole pamphlet stitch to attach our organized signature. I will also share a visual process I use for approaching Faith Journaling. Together, we will explore how to plan different journal forms for different purposes and to create interactive embellishments that add function and meaning to each. Class is suitable for adults with interest in journal building and decorative paper crafts.

Supplies: Upon Registration students will receive a folder link with a supply list, prep information, and inspiration photo(s). This Dropbox link will be at check out and in your welcome email.
